Control the state of biomaterial samples

‘FLORIS’ diagnostic laboratory pays special attention to the quality of assays performed:

Some pre-analytical factors (used anticoagulant and correlation between anticoagulant volume and biomaterial, sample properties (hemolysis, chyle, caked blood), duration of the biomaterial transportation and storage etc.) may strongly affect the laboratory test findings. Therefore, before the assays, the laboratory staff thoroughly control the state of biomaterial samples.

Diet requirements:

1. Minimal requirements

  • under fasting condition preferably (4-6 hours): infection tests, emergent tests;

2. Special requirements

  • only under fasting conditions, after 12-14 hours of fasting – lipid control: cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, apolipoprotein А1, apolipoprotein В, VLDL, lipoprotein;
  • in the morning on an empty stomach after at least 12 but not more than 16 hours of fasting: glucose tolerance test.

Recommended time for blood tests:

‘+/-‘ – may be performed with some limitations, diurnal rhythm should be taken into consideration for progression tests and breakpoints as compared to the reference range;

‘-‘ – not recommended.

You can provide your biomaterial for laboratory testing at your home if you request a house-call service. In case of infection tests, please keep in mind that any patient may have a negative result, depending on the infection period and condition of the immune system. However, negative result does not exclude the infection presence completely. In doubtful cases, re-testing is recommended.

Please note! Various laboratories may apply various methods of testing and units of measurement. To ensure accuracy and acceptability of your test findings, please do your tests at the same laboratory and at the same time. Comparison of such tests will be more correct.
